Karen R. Goodman
Karen R. Goodman has been practicing law in the State of Illinois since 1977. She has practiced in various areas of law and since 1989 her practice has focused primarily on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She has represented creditors, trustees, Chapter 11 debtors and creditors’ committees in various complex commercial bankruptcy cases. Ms. Goodman has also counseled clients regarding out-of-court workouts and in the area of insolvency.
As part of her bankruptcy practice, Ms. Goodman has been a member of the panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Northern District of Illinois since 1989 and has been appointed as Trustee and Examiner in operating Chapter 11 cases. She was selected as Assignee for the Benefit of Creditors as part of a negotiated Chapter 11 dismissal.
Ms. Goodman’s professional activities include speaking in several panels at workshops and seminars addressing bankruptcy and Trustee issues. She is a former Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Committee on Bankruptcy and Reorganization.
Ms. Goodman has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, 2018 and 2019.
